Our story
Castor Optics was founded in 2013 by Caroline Boudoux and Nicolas Godbout from Polytechnique Montréal, Alex Cable, founder of Thorlabs, and Normand Brais, founder of Sanuvox, to bring innovative fused fiber technology to the World. Our flagship product, the double-clad fiber coupler, combines decades of expertise in fiber optics with a deep understanding of the unmet challenges in biophotonics. Since our inception, we have licensed several technologies from university laboratories and expanded our patent portfolio, enabling continuous innovation and offering first-to-market exclusive fiber optics products that meet our customers’ most stringent requirements.
